  • Traffic Alert - Rt 78: Repaving from Watchung (Plainfield Avenue exit) west to Rt 287. Expect lane closures. Work to be completed in September.

  • Today - August 25. 6:30 PM. 'Restore Muhlenberg' Coalition Meeting. POP and other Muhlenberg activists continue the struggle for Plainfield's historic hospital. POP attorney Bennet Zurofsky will be present; last week's Council resolutions will be discussed as well as plans for the next steps. At the duCret School of Art, 1030 Central Avenue. All are welcome!

  • Today - August 25. 7:30 PM. City Council Agenda Session. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue.

  • Tomorrow - August 26. 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Community Forum. Hosted by the Mayor and City Council, topics will include: 'fiscal responsible governance' (sic) and the 'Safer Plainfield' initiative. At Washington Community School, 427 Darrow Avenue (parking available in Spooner Avenue lot). The public is invited. (Read the Courier item here.) Ah, adverb-free governance! How refreshing! Now, if we could just tackle the adjectives!

  • Wednesday - August 27. 7:30 PM. Plainfield Shade Tree Commission. City Hall Library. Public invited.

  • Thursday - August 28. 7 PM. Superintendent's Town Hall Meeting. The Superintendent and other district leaders will share the exciting programs and activities planned for the new school year, and engage the community in a dialog. Hosted by Superintendent Steve Gallon III. At Washington Community School, 427 Darrow Avenue (parking in the lot on Spooner Avenue). All are welcome!
