That included notices of fundraisers, rallies, etc. in the calendar section. Snail mail invitations were sent to each candidate, inviting them to email links and notices to Dan and that the links will be in a special section on the CLIPS page beginning Wednesday, May 6. You won't want to miss Plainfield's huge garage sale event, this year joined by the Van Wycks Brooks' Historic District's yard sale. Thousands visit the city for the FOSH sale and now will have two neighborhoods to load up from. Look for balloons. Maps available at participating homes or visit the FOSH website here and the VWB Historic District's site here.

  • Today - May 31. 9 AM - 3 PM. Annual Pet Rehab Benefit Yard Sale. This multi-household yard sale always has great goodies, plus the proceeds benefit Angel's Gate, an animal rehab center and hospice. At 1326 Watchung Avenue. For more info, see angelsgate.org/.

  • Today - May 31. 2 - 5 PM. 'Maidens in May' House Tour. United Way's Plainfield Community Council has put together an outstanding house (and garden!) tour to benefit the Queen City's emergency services. The tour features six homes of architectural and historic significance, plus several homes whose owners will open their gardens for the event. A post-tour party at The Pillars (922 Central Avenue) will wind up the festivities. Tickets: $20/person -- gets you into homes, gardens and party. Proceeds will benefit the Plainfield Rescue Squad and the Tri-County Red Cross. For more information, visit the United Way website here.
