  • Sunday - November 1. 1 - 3 PM. Lunch at Mohawk Lodge with Jim Pivnichny. Meet mayoral candidate Jim Pivnichny and have lunch on the house. Sponsored by Progressive Leadership for Plainfield and the Plainfield GOP. At the Mohawk Lodge 1357 West 3rd Street (at Rushmore Avenue).

  • Sunday - November 1. 4 PM. Community Rally for Muhlenberg. Muhlenberg activists and mayoral candidates Deborah Dowe and Jim Pivnichny invite the community to a rally and press conference to advocate restoring full services to Muhlenberg. Dr. Brian Fertig will speak. Outside the front entrance to Muhlenberg (rain location: duCret). Refreshments follow the rally at duCret School of the Arts, 1030 Central Avenue. Parking and entrance to Hall off parking lot at rear of complex. All welcome.

  • Sunday - November 1. 5 - 7 PM. Union County GOP: Rally for Change!. Union County GOP and friends rally for Republican candidates in Districts 21 (Bramnick and Munoz) and 22 (Vastine and Marks) as well as for Union County offices. Free food, beer, wine and soda. Music by Brother John Brown Band. Location: 33 South 21st Street, Kenilworth (off Kenilworth Boulevard). FREE. All are welcome.

Mayoral candidate Deborah Dowe will be joined by others to discuss options for Muhlenberg and Ms. Dowe's vision for Plainfield. At duCret School of Art, 1030 Central Avenue. Parking and entrance to Hall off parking lot at rear of complex. All welcome.

  • Tuesday - November 3. Polls open from 6 AM to 8 PM. General Election Day. Governor, all Assembly seats, Mayor and Ward 4 Council seat are up for election this year.

  • Tuesday - November 3. 8 PM. WBGO 'Champions of Jazz' Benefit. 30 years of WBGO are being celebrated with a concert honoring 9-time Grammy winner Paquito D'Rivera and the venerable jazz authority DownBeat Magazine. Participants include the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, vocalist Freddy Cole, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, Canadian sensation Nikk Yanofsky, and Ernie Andrews, whose 50-year career includes working with Harry James, Cannonball Adderly and the Heath Brothers.
