Latest crime wave?.. Developer being fast-tracked.. Maria's new lineup.. Live Web Council broadcasts for $9K/year? Not Plainfield's..

PLAINFIELD

PLAINFIELD TODAY:
Be sure to check out fellow Plainfield bloggers: Bernice notes the fast-tracking of the ultra-modern commercial proposal for West Front Street on tonight's Council agenda, and how the nip in the air perks up her nasturtiums (nasturtia?). Here's Maria's new lineup: Maria's blog, the Crescent Area HD, Evergreen School PTO, and the Train Station Beautification project. Along with a dose of medicine (Fannie, Freddie and Ginnie), olddoc shares some tranquil views -- I'm partial to the Outer Hebrides one. Plainfield Sports News has a post by Terence Johnson on the Cardinals vs. SPF HS (see Courier slideshow in news below). Assemblyman Green has no new post, but is supposed to be holding a hearing on the mortgage crisis today (who knew we had a mortgage crisis?).

PHS Cardinals: "PHS vs. ScotchPlains-Fanwood" -- Slideshow.

Web-Broadcast Council Meetings: "Branchburg contracts for live Web broadcasts for $9,000/year" -- While Plainfield spends hundreds of thousands per year and can't get it done.
Alternative Energy: "Towns start reshaping landscape for solar, wind energy" -- SOME towns, that would be; not even a whisper about Plainfield.

Mental Health System: "Lawmakers seek overhaul after continuing incidents, crises"
