Gangs: NJ's Gannett newspapers (including the Courier) continue their 7-part series on gangs -- but only in the print edition. It is not clear from the online teaser copy (see here) if it will ever be available online without a charge. Will let you know what I find out. -- Dan

  • Wednesday - March 24. 7:30 PM. Plainfield Shade Tree Commission. City Hall, 2nd Floor Conference Room. 515 Watchung Avenue (parking in lot at rear of building). Public invited.

  • Thursday - March 25. 7 PM. City Council Town Hall Meeting (Ward 2). Second Ward residents are invited to discuss concerns specific to their Ward and neighborhoods. At Cook School, Leland Avenue at Berkeley Avenue.

  • Saturday - March 27. 7 PM. Help Haiti Smile: A Benefit for Haiti Relief. Beginning with a concert by the Good News Community Gospel Choir under the direction of Mark Miller (at 7 PM), the evening includes a reception and art show featuring the works of Darlene Foster, Ivan Lo and Jeremy Langdon. Admission: $10. Proceeds will be shared between the Clinton/Bush Haiti Fund and the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund's Haiti relief effort.
