Elizabeth --

Hospitals:  "'Weekend effect' a problem in understaffed hospitals"
Middlesex County Dems:  "County party chair to be contested Tuesday night" -- Two heavyweights go head-to-head.
Newark:  "Foundation that sends Newark students to top schools looks to expand to other cities"
South Plainfield:  "Borough wasting taxpayer money on road project" -- Letter, Courier.

RECENT POSTS: Bernice gives thought to the local Democratic scene, wondering if the Chairman has salted his own turf this time around, plus best wishes to everyone who is gardening.  Olddoc is editing a post put up early this AM, check back at noon. Maria, check back later to see if she's back from the weekend. ke' stans blogs on urban education at Through The Lens, arguing children deserve better schools, not privatization of the schools. Tony Rucker, at Queen City Progressive, lays out his view of Plainfield's priorities for the new fiscal year (somehow overlooking that the budget cooperation promised by the Mayor in January has yet to take place).
