  • 2009 MLK Events Calendar is online here. Events begin this Saturday (Jan. 10) and run through Monday, January 19th.

  • Saturdays - January thru April. 1 - 3 PM. Kid's Tennis Program. A free tennis program for Plainfield kids in grades 3 through 5. Racquets available for sale, as well as on loan to those who need. Students will learn basics of the game, including playing, rules, and physical conditioning. Sponsored by Washington Community School and Young's Tennis.   • Today - January 10. 1 PM (March), 2 PM (Program). MLK Event: Dr. King and Health Care for All. Join in the march from City Hall to the Friends' Meeting House, and at 2 PM a program on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and health care for all. Sponsor: Peoples Organization for Progress. FREE.

  • Today - January 10. VWB District's Twelfth Night Progressive Dinner. This must-do event is a perennial favorite of the District's members and supporters. Hosted by several Van Wyck Brooks Historic District members in several of their homes, guests enjoy everything from appetizers to cordials. This year's theme is 'Mediterranean and North African Delights'. Tickets: $25/members, $40/guests. SORRY, SOLD OUT.

  • Tuesday - January 13. 8:30 - 10 AM. State of the City Address for the Business Community. A business meeting hosted by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce and the City geared toward collaborating with local business owners to improve our local economy. At City Hall Library.
