Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Olddoc, after reading the state's report, asks that the state take over the schools, and posts the 2013-2014 healthcare reform timetables. Maria goes over some details of the state's report, notes it will be discussed Tuesday -- and the documentary on the NJEA is coming to Westfield night before the BOE election.

  • Today through April 9. During Library hours. Library Spring Book Sale. The Plainfield Public Library's mini Spring Book Sale features fiction, African-American history, cookbooks, women's history, religion and more -- all at $1 each. Located in the pool courtyard, the sale is continuous during Library hours (Mon-Wed: 9 am - 8 pm; Thu-Fri: 9 am - 5 pm; Sat: 9 am - 1 pm).   • Today - April 3. 10 AM. (Registration begins at 9 AM). Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Recreation Division's annual Easter Egg Hunt is for children from ages 3 - 10, accompanied by an adult. At Washington Community School, 427 Darrow Avenue. (Parking available in the Spooner Avenue lot.) FREE.

  • Tomorrow - April 4. 1 - 4 PM. Free Easter Dinner. As is its custom every year, the First Unitarian Society of Plainfield offers an Easter dinner to any who may be alone or hungry on Easter Day. All are welcome for this meal, prepared and served by volunteers from the parish. At First Unitarian Society of Plainfield, 724 Park Avenue. (Parking in city lot across street.)
