  • Today through April 9. During Library hours. Library Spring Book Sale. The Plainfield Public Library's mini Spring Book Sale features fiction, African-American history, cookbooks, women's history, religion and more -- all at $1 each. Located in the pool courtyard, the sale is continuous during Library hours (Mon-Wed: 9 am - 8 pm; Thu-Fri: 9 am - 5 pm; Sat: 9 am - 1 pm).   • Tomorrow - April 5. 7:30 PM. City Council Agenda Session. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue. (Parking and entry at rear of building.) Agenda should be found online at www.plainfield.com/Agendas.htm. Public may speak at end of meeting.

  • Tuesday - April 6. 8 PM. Board of Ed Meeting. Dr. Gallon will discuss the OFAC report. At the Board of Ed Administration Building (Jefferson School), 1200 Myrtle Avenue. Public welcome.

  • Wednesday - April 7. 7 PM. Zoning Board of Adjustment. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue (parking in lot at rear of building). Public invited.

  • Friday - April 9. 6:30 PM. Meet and Greet: Coalition for Better Schools. Meet and talk with Board of Ed candidates Martin Cox, Christian Estevez, Mary Burgwinkle and Carmencita Pile. Enjoy food with a Latino flair and beverages while chatting with the candidates. At the Terrace Room of the YWCA of Central NJ, 232 East Front at Church Street.
