Olddoc: Dudley House, Gallon contract, Finance/Admin director slumgullion.. Maria: Lots on BOE plate: OFAC action plan, financial settlements, policy updates.. Bernice discovers 'ancient grains' bread.. Two new Plainfield blogs..

Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice discovers 'ancient grains' bread on a recent reconnoiter. Olddoc stirs the pot: Dudley House, Gallon contract, Finance Director...slumgullion anyone? Maria OFAC action plan, financial settlements, policy corrections...BOE has full plate. Piv on gangs, time for a truce? Councilor Mapp writes in support of Councilor Cory Storch. Jerry is invited by the Clark schools to give the keynote at the districtwide 'Welcome Back' meeting. Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Councilor McWilliams posts a letter regarding the commemoration of Muhlenberg's closing; and notes that two of her F.A.I.R. ordinances recently passed. Plainfield Sports News reports Thunder win in walkoff fashion.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger holds Cory Storch up as an exemplar of public service; Nat Singleton, energized by Jerry Green's misinformation, is blogging at Dumbed Down America, where his 'welcome' post outlines his vision for the blog; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap notes the three kinds of people in our lives, and thanks supporters recognizing difference between real concerns and whining; her daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, picks up Big Brother 12 into the dawn; and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez.

Besides the news on the front page of the Plainfield Public Schools website, there are three blogs concerned with the schools: Vashon Hill, president of the Leadership Project of Jefferson and Cook schools blogs at A Student's Prospective, with a host of topics looking forward to the new school year; and two teacher blogs: Dr. E=MC²,
points to involving young people in solving the gang problem (and critiques the Mayor's 'simplistic' Town Hall gambit); and Eye on Plainfield Schools.
