Gang shootout erupts over weekend.. Storch to Green: Stop smearing agency.. McWilliams on Muhlenberg commemoration.. Bernice: Library goes graphic.. Maria: Why Council minutes not online?..

PLAINFIELD TODAY:
Curfews:  "Plainfield scuttles curfews" -- Unenforceable.
Vacant Properties:  "City may take over abandoned properties" -- Sunday's main story still not online yet.

'Black in America' Documentary:  "'Churched' segment filmed at Buster Soaries church" -- Courier | Ledger |
County Improvement Authority:  "Agency swims in $450M debt; taxpayers could be holding the bag"
EMT Training:  "Funding cuts spur five rescue units' training alliance"
South Plainfield:  "BOE's creative budgeting restores slashed athletic programs"

NJ Supremes:  "Court's refusal to hear gay marriage case raises question of Christie's influence"

Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice finds the Library highlighting graphic novels with a slot near the entrance. Olddoc has a spicy potpourri, including wondering if Council will insist on a full accounting of the Town Hall expenses, a defense of Plainfield bloggers against (evident) accusations of racism, etc. Maria on the power of OPRA and why Council minutes aren't online. Piv asks if the Gang Forum was hoopla or serious business. Councilor Mapp wonders why Administration 'disses' Council when need for collaboration is so clear. Jerry continues his attack on Cory Storch, declaring he won't waste his time answering Dan or Bernice (then spending 477 words doing so). Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Councilor McWilliams posts a letter regarding the commemoration of Muhlenberg's closing.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap, notes open gym Thursdays in August at Washington, Emerson schools;  her daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, moves on from those licentious piƱatas  with more Big Brother 12 live feeds into dawn this morning; and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez. There are two personal blogs concerned with the Plainfield public schools: Dr. E=MC²; and Eye on Plainfield Schools.
