  • Tomorrow - April 16. 7 PM. League of Women Voters BOE Candidate Forum. Ten candidates for four Board of Education seats will face off in the annual LWV candidate forum. Candidate statements will appear in an LWV ad in the Courier in advance of the forum. Plainfield's LWV chapter, formed in 1920, is one of the oldest in the nation. In the Anne Louise Davis Meeting Room at the Plainfield Public Library, Park Avenue and 8th Street. FREE.

  • Friday - Sunday - April 17-19. Scrapbooking Weekend Getaway at The Pillars. Plainfield's B&B innkeepers Lamont Blowe and Nancy Fiske host a weekend for scrapbookers, including meals, constant snacks, endless pots of coffee and plenty of workspace.   • Saturday - April 18. 6:30 PM. 'Camp Discovery' Benefit Auction. Wine, cheese and desserts will be featured at this event to raise funds for a summer educational camp for Plainfield public school students. Local entertainer Gloria Walsh will preside over live and silent auctions of over 200 items, services, gift baskets and business gift certificates. An evening of fun, hilarity and bargains for all.
