  • Help! The computer ate the master calendar. Please resend any events scheduled from April forward to this email. Thanks!

  • Tomorrow - April 4. 9 AM. Volunteer Workday at Humane Society. Volunteers are invited to join in demolition of remaining kennels to make way for new kennels and fencing; those wishing to help should bring work gloves and eye protection and wear old clothing. The Plainfield Area Human Society is on Rock Avenue next to the PMUA Transfer Station and the Green Brook bridge. Info: contact.pahs@verizon.net. Note that though progress on fundraising has been made, they are still not out of the woods. You can help.

  • Tomorrow - April 4. 9 AM - 1 PM. Free Rabies Clinic. Bring your cat or dog to a free rabies clinic. Cats must be in secure carrier and dogs must be on a leash. At the South Avenue Firehouse, next to Netherwood Station. Dog and cat licenses will be available.

  • Monday - April 6. 7:30 PM. City Council Agenda Session. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue. (Parking and entry at rear of building.) Public may speak at end of meeting.

  • Tuesday - April 7. 4 - 8 PM. Free Rabies Clinic. Bring your cat or dog to a free rabies clinic. Cats must be in secure carrier and dogs must be on a leash. At the Bergen Street Firehouse. Dog and cat licenses will be available.

  • Friday - Sunday - April 17-19. Scrapbooking Weekend Getaway at The Pillars. Plainfield's B&B innkeepers Lamont Blowe and Nancy Fiske host a weekend for scrapbookers, including meals, constant snacks, endless pots of coffee and plenty of workspace.
