  • Today - August 29. 11 AM - 5 PM. Downtown Summer Sidewalk Sale. Old-fashioned event where merchants put special merchandise out for sidewalk shopping. Downtown shopping district: East and West Front Street, Park and Watchung Avenues.

  • Today - August 29. 7:30 AM - 5 PM. Flea Market. First Annual Flea Market to benefit student services and activities of the Plainfield Public School community. Vendors: Tables are $20 I1 vehicle) or $35 (2 vehicles), tables NOT included. Gates open for vendors at 6 AM. Fees paid at the gate; first come, first availability. Gates open to the public at 7:30 AM. At the Kenyon Avenue PHS parking lot. Refereshments will be on sale in the cafeteria. Info: (908) 731-4333. (Rain location: Gymnasium and cafeteria.)

  • Thursday - September 3. 9 AM - 3ish PM. Farmer's Market: Stillwell Farms of Robbinsville. Fresh fruits and veggies. Vacant lot between City Hall and Salvation Army, Watchung Avenue.

  • Saturday - September 5. 10 AM - 4 PM. 46th Annual Outdoor Festival of Art. Fine arts, crafts, music, dance, food and more. Children's Art Table, face painting and more.   • Tuesday - September 8 (Date changed because of Labor Day). 7:30 PM. City Council Agenda Session. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue. (Parking and entry at rear of building.) Public may speak at end of meeting.
