Councilor Mapp on portable speed humps as a possibility citywide. Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Plainfield Sports News finds QCBL win in 10U as Labor Day weekend tourney continues -- also check out that new scrolling ticker at top of the page.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger holds Cory Storch up as an exemplar of public service; Nat Singleton, energized by Jerry Green's misinformation, is blogging at Dumbed Down America, where he engages his new blog's readers in a back-and-forth exchange; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap continues the mysterious headlines (is there a decoder ring?) and notes 'each 1 teach 1' (recalling the great missionary Frank Laubach, who drew on this African proverb); her daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, picks up Big Brother 12 into the dawn today plus Ragan's exit interview; and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez.

Besides the news on the front page of the Plainfield Public Schools website, there are three blogs concerned with the schools: Vashon Hill, president of the Leadership Project of Jefferson and Cook schools blogs at A Student's Prospective, has a post for school's opening and a fresh new look; and two teacher blogs: Dr. E=MC²,
points to involving young people in solving the gang problem (and critiques the Mayor's 'simplistic' Town Hall gambit); and Eye on Plainfield Schools.
