Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice notes Cretella's West 2nd Commons is before Planning Board tonight. Olddoc says he's making his final post on the 'Race to the Top' flap -- we'll see. Maria on high school testing, 'where the rubber meets the road'. Piv on gangs, time for a truce? Jerry reports on Clark's educational plan, thanks them for the treatment he received. Councilor Mapp on portable speed humps as a possibility citywide. Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Councilor McWilliams posts a letter regarding the commemoration of Muhlenberg's closing; and notes that two of her F.A.I.R. ordinances recently passed. Plainfield Sports News has QCBL Labor Day weekend tourney continuing, finds Sky Blue FC's playoff hopes damaged.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger holds Cory Storch up as an exemplar of public service; Nat Singleton, energized by Jerry Green's misinformation, is blogging at Dumbed Down America, where he engages his new blog's readers in a back-and-forth exchange; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap continues the mysterious headlines (is there a decoder ring?) and notes 'each 1 teach 1' (recalling the great missionary Frank Laubach, who drew on this African proverb); her daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, picks up Big Brother 12 into the dawn today; and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez.

Besides the news on the front page of the Plainfield Public Schools website, there are three blogs concerned with the schools: Vashon Hill, president of the Leadership Project of Jefferson and Cook schools blogs at A Student's Prospective, has a post for school's opening and a fresh new look; and two teacher blogs: Dr. E=MC²,
points to involving young people in solving the gang problem (and critiques the Mayor's 'simplistic' Town Hall gambit); and Eye on Plainfield Schools.
