Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice notes Hispanic Heritage Month is under way and Congressman Pallone is holding office hours at City Hall (what did I tell you?). Olddoc says he will be taking up the ShotSpotter proposal today. Maria continues her adventures in OPRAland, gettting some BOE executive session minutes finally, sort of. Piv on gangs: time for a truce? Jerry seems to be laying low, no post since Sept. 6. Bo on the 22nd details Gov. Christie's reform plan. Councilor Mapp on portable speed humps as a possibility citywide. Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Councilor Burney  outlines his 'transparency with teeth' proposal. Councilor McWilliams takes up the Mayor's veto of the F.A.I.R. ordinances recently passed, and why the benefits outweigh the Mayor's objections. Plainfield Sports News posts the Mid-state 39 top rankings in week 2 (O Plainfield, where are you?), and finds Passion of the Lingerie Football League opening tomorrow in Trenton.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger holds Cory Storch up as an exemplar of public service; Nat Singleton, energized by Jerry Green's misinformation, is blogging at Dumbed Down America, today introducing Assemblyman Green to both Stanley Kowalski and Ruth Brown; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap invites folks afresh to register for the HERITAGE Choir Guinness challenge; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, what?!...has Big Brother 12 jumped the shark?! watch the season finale tonight; and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez.

Besides the news on the front page of the Plainfield Public Schools website, there are four blogs concerned with the schools: Vashon Hill, president of the Leadership Project of Jefferson and Cook schools blogs at A Student's Perspective
(note blog's new name), has posted pix from school's opening; BOE member Renata Hernandez' daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective, where she posts an idential solicitation to enlist in the HERITAGE Choir Guinness double challenge; and two teacher blogs: Dr. E=MC², in a new post, praises the new administration and the educational 'Marshall Plan' it has 'superbly guided' for the past three months; and Eye on Plainfield Schools, which has not posted since June and which I have tried to reach unsuccessfully -- will probably take down at end of week if I don't hear anything.
