Grantwriters Worshop:  "'Getting to the source' workshop for nonprofits sponsored by Freeholders"

Rahway:  "Grant helps Rahway fill vacant stores with art"

Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice reports the Police Memorial dedication and family members' remarks; remembers 9/11. Olddoc outlines some of Monday's Council agenda; should prove an interesting meeting. Maria finds a new meaning for 'ATM'. Piv on gangs: time for a truce? Jerry reports on Clark's educational plan, thanks them for the treatment he received. Bo on the 22nd notes former President Bush in surprise welcome to returning soldiers. Councilor Mapp on portable speed humps as a possibility citywide. Councilor Storch demands Jerry cease-and-desist in smearing Bridgeway. Councilor Burney, apparently giving up on Solaris, wants City to fund an ambulance. Councilor McWilliams takes up the Mayor's veto of the F.A.I.R. ordinances recently passed, and why the benefits outweigh the Mayor's objections. Plainfield Sports News finds PHS opening against Phillipsburg, not happily.

Don't miss these personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger holds Cory Storch up as an exemplar of public service; Nat Singleton, energized by Jerry Green's misinformation, is blogging at Dumbed Down America, where South Park's Eric Hartman gives Gov. Christie some needed advice; BOE member Renata Hernandez blogs anew at new blog Standing In The Gap posts a 9/11 thought, and art from friends supporting her in a back-and-forth; her daughter Milani Hernandez is at PEPTalk: A PPS pupil's perspective where she posts a call to support the HERITAGE Choir Guinness double challenge; Jackie Schnoop's The (TV) Show Must Go On, posts her fab weekend pix, including some Elizabeth shots (from jury duty?); and Dottie Gutenkauf's Dottie G Sez.

Besides the news on the front page of the Plainfield Public Schools website, there are three blogs concerned with the schools: Vashon Hill, president of the Leadership Project of Jefferson and Cook schools blogs at A Student's Prospective, has posted pix from school's opening; and two teacher blogs: Dr. E=MC²,
points to involving young people in solving the gang problem (and critiques the Mayor's 'simplistic' Town Hall gambit); and Eye on Plainfield Schools. Some of the bloggers who took a summer break are back scribbling!
