  • Today - October 17. Noon - 5 PM. Four Centuries in a Weekend.  Plainfield's Drake House Museum and 24 other sites across Union County will be open to the public for extended hours as part of the County's annual celebration of community-based historic houses and museums. The Drake House currently is showing an exhibition on the history of Plainfield's fire division and has fre-related historic information in each of the museum's period rooms. See more here.   • Tomorrow - October 18. 8 PM. Van Wyck Brooks Historic District Meeting. Monthly members meeting (upcoming events include the annual Twelfth Night Progressive Dinner -- always sold out). At 919 Central Avenue.

Annual AKA Free Clothing Giveaway.  The Theta Phi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority hosts its annual free clothing giveaway, featuring a wide selection of nice clothing items for men, women and children. At the YWCA, 232 East Front Street (corner of Church Street). FREE.
