  • Today - November 8. 7 - 9 PM. City Council Budget Deliberations: Tax Assessor, Tax Collector, Audit & Control, Purchasing. City Council members will interview representatives of city departments and divisions in preparation for any amendments to be made to the introduce FY2011 budget. Members of the  Citizens Budget Advisory Committee will also be in attendance. The public is invited. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue. Parking and entry at rear of building.

  • Thursday - November 11. 11 AM. Veterans Day Ceremony. This year's ceremony will be preceded by a parade of the colors along East Front Street from Roosevelt Avenue to Richmond Street. Sponsored by the Veterans Alliance, composed of American Legion Post 219, VFW Memorial Post 7474, Retired Veterans Local No. 51, the Womens Auxiliary of Post 219, and the Military Order of the Cooties.   • Friday - November 12. 6:30 PM. Alpha Phi Alpha Wine & Cheese/Art Show & Silent Auction. The brothers of Zeta Nu Lambda chapter, Plainfield, are hosting a wine tasting, art show and silent auction. Featured visual artist is B. Curtis Grayson  III. Wine tasting starts promptly at 8:06 PM.
