  • Saturday - November 6. 11 AM - 1 PM. Exhibit: 5th Annual Plainfield Public Library Photography Contest. Opening reception and awards presentation for the 2010 photography contest, with the theme 'East Side, West Side, All Around the Town'. Amateur and professional photographers look forward to this annual contest for images of Plainfield daily life. All entries become part of the Library's extensive photography collection. Winning photographs and selected entries will be on view through December 31.  At the Plainfield Public Library, Room 2, Lower Level, Park Avenue at West 8th Street. FREE.

  • Saturday - November 6. 3 - 5 PM. Exhibit: Antique Engravings. Opening reception. Exhibit includes maps and hunt, marine and historical scenes. On display until the Christmas Miniatures Show. Continuing the PSO's 91st year and Conductor Charles Prince's first full season, the PSO first-ever performance of Gustav Mahler's glorious Symphony No. 1. The concert opens with Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5, with Evelyn Estava as soloist. At 7 PM in the chapel, 'Chat with Charles' will give concertgoers an overview of the evening's program (free with your ticket).
