WHAT'S HAPPENING



  • Today - November 28. 11:30 AM - 1 PM. Hajj Food Distribution. The 877-Why-Islam Food Bank will distribute food as part of the celebration of Hajj, the time of pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca. Distribution will take place in Plainfield, New Brunswick, East Orange and Jersey City. In Plainfield, at the Center for Islamic Enlightenment, 151 North Avenue.

  • Tomorrow - November 29. 8 PM. Special City Council Business Meeting. City Council will hold a hearing on a revised layoff plan for FY2011 and other matters. City Council Chambers/Courthouse. Watchung Avenue and East 4th Street. Public may speak on agenda items at beginning of meeting, on any item at end of meeting.
