  • Today - January 3. 5:30 - 7:30 PM.  Reception Honoring Retiring Clerk Laddie Wyatt. The City of Plainfield and Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs invite all to a New Year's reception honoring retiring City Clerk Laddie Wyatt. At City Hall Library, 515 Watchung Avenue (parking in rear).

  • Today - January 3. 8 PM.  City Council Reorganization Meeting. City Council Chambers/Courthouse. Watchung Avenue and East 4th Street. Newly elected Ward 2/3 councilor Rebecca Williams will be sworn in. Council reorganizes, make appointments. Public may speak on agenda items at beginning of meeting, on any item at end of meeting.

  • Tomorrow - January 4. 9:30 Sharp. Free Job Training. Project Ready will be accepting applications for its free six week job preparedness program. Applicants should be prepared to stay until 1:30 PM. The program includes learning basic skills in MS Word, Excel and using the Internet, as well as resumé writing and interview techniques.
