WHAT'S HAPPENING



  • Today - January 7. 7 PM. Special Plainfield Democratic City Committee Meeting. The resignation of Linda Carter to join the Freeholder board creates a vacancy. The law provides for the PDCC to propose three names to replace her on the Council. That person would sit until the November election, when a duly elected  replacement will fill out the balance of Carter's term. At Heard One Complex, 210 Church Street (across from Union County College). Guests are always welcome.

  • Sunday - January 9. Noon. Union County Reorganization. Plainfield's own Linda Carter will join other freeholders and county officials to be officially sworn in to their respective offices. In the courtroom of Superior Court Judge Karen Cassidy, at the Union County Courthouse, 2 Broad Street, Elizabeth.

  • Monday - January 10. 7:30 PM. City Council Agenda Session. Public may speak at end of meeting. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue. Parking and entry at rear of building.
