  • Today - September 15. 7 PM. Let's Talk Trash: FOSH Forum on PMUA. For this second forum, FOSH has invited the PMUA Commissioners, Executive Staff, the City Council and Mayor Robinson-Briggs to attend. Block associations, Neighborhood Watch groups and community organizations are invited to bring materials to share with others. At the YWCA of Central NJ, 232 East Front at Church Street.

  • Thursday - September 17. 9 AM - 3ish PM. Farmer's Market: Stillwell Farms of Robbinsville. Fresh fruits and veggies. Vacant lot between City Hall and Salvation Army, Watchung Avenue.

  • Thursdays through November 19. 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Free Basic Spanish Classes: A Plainfield Family Success Center Activity. Basic Spanish to help navigate everyday communication situations. At the PFSC, 925 Arlington Avenue (old High School), Rooms 403/405. Info: Ms. McLean (908) 731-4360 x 5381. PFSC is a project sponsored by the Plainfield Board of Education. All activities are without charge.

  • Saturday - September 19. 9 AM Sharp Bus Departure. Morgan State vs. Winston-Salem State: NY Urban League Football Classic. The Craftsman Club of Stone Square Lodge sponsors this bus ride to the 38th Annual Classic. Tickets: $45/person, includes game ticket, bus, food and drink. Bus departs Douglas Hall Temple promptly at 9 AM. Leaves stadium promptly at 6 PM. Info/Tickets: Solomon Johnson, (973) 953-7779.

  • Saturday - September 19. 10 AM - 3 PM. Plainfield Public Library Book Sale. Others' castoffs are waiting to become your new favorites! Think of the places you'll go! In the pool area on the Lower Level of the Plainfield Public Library, Park Avenue and 8th Street. While you're at it, check out the newly refurbished Meeting Room 2, available for public use for group meetings. FREE.

  • Saturday - September 19. 6:30 - 10:30 PM. YWCA Gala: Party On, Plainfield. A night of food, music, and dancing in support of the YWCA of Central NJ. Silent Auction. Tickets: $50/person. At the YWCA of Central NJ, 232 East Front at Church Street. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at EventBrite or at the door.
