Bernice: Political hoops hurt volunteerism.. Olddoc to Jerry: Stick to the issues.. Maria: Why textbook delay?.. Vastine: Jerry's mental shape?..

PLAINFIELD TODAY:

Connolly Properties: "Tenants in two buildings get water shut-off notices" -- Pingry Arms, Viola's Place.
Corzine Campaign Event: "Corzine struggling locally" -- Event snubbed by Mayor Robinson-Briggs.
Charter Schools: "Plainfield gets another charter school" -- Courier | Ledger | NJNewsroom |
Debit Cards: "Chase, Bank of America revise debit card policies" -- Re: Overdraft charges.
Mark Miller: "Plainfield organist in East Stroudsburg organ recital"

Plainfield observers (click on name to go to post): Bernice: Where is the Hispanic Affairs Commission? Having to jump through political hoops hurts board volunteerism. Olddoc challenges Jerry (and his ghost writer) to stick to the issues, pointing to Vastine's response to JG; and questions an executive session to discuss the Monarch abatement proposal. Maria notes some progress on textbooks, but questions remain about why the delay. Councilor Mapp: You may want to review his answers from Dashield on the abatement item up tonight. Councilor Burney told me he has been too busy to post the agendas though he is aware folks have come to rely on him, and said he would try to get back on track. Mayoral candidate Pivnichny states his position on prisoner re-entry programs. (Incumbent Robinson-Briggs' page is still 'under construction'.) Assembly candidate Vastine fact-checks Jerry's blog...and wonders if he's losing it.

Also, three personal blogs by Plainfielders, each with a point of view: Rebecca Williams' Confessions of a Bathrobe Blogger, Renata Hernandez' PEPTalk: Revisited, and Jackie's The (TV) Show Must Go On.

Kean Soccer: "2-2 tie with NJCU, no scoring in 2nd half"
New Brunswick: "Appellate ruling ends debate about ballot proposals" -- A victory against the machine.
North Plainfield: "Borough's police seek accreditation renewal"
On-Street Parking: "Overnight parking plan in Montclair scrapped" -- Residents vs. tenants.
Underage Drinking: "New Providence moves to crack down on teen drinking"

2009 Races --
Hebrew-language Charter School: "NJ approves first publicly-funded Hebrew-language school"
Nets: "A long shot from Russia with love"
