PRIMARY ELECTION CAMPAIGN BLOGS
A contested Democratic primary for the Wards 2/3 seat this year has three candidates seeking the party line on the November ballot: incumbent Rashid Burney, New Democrat Rebecca Williams, and former Ward 3 councilor Don Davis. In addition, Jim Pivnichny is an uncontested candidate in the Republican primary. This year, for the first time, the sale will run TWO days, Saturday and Sunday. Rain or shine. A good place to start is Watchung Avenue. Look for balloons. Plainfielders will gather in the 3rd annual overnight fundraising walk to honor cancer survivors, remember those who have been lost to the disease and raise funds for continuing research. 39 teams have been organized to walk through the night.
