In April, CLIPS offered to post links to online presences (website, blog, Facebook, etc.) any candidate may be using for the 2009 primary election campaign. That included posting notices of fundraisers, rallies, etc. in the calendar section. Snail mail invitations were sent to each candidate, inviting them to email links and notices to Dan and that the links will be in a special section on the CLIPS page beginning Wednesday, May 6. Links above are to those who have responded. Those not responding include: Carol Ann Brokaw-Boles, Martin Cox, Bob Ferraro and Tom Turner, as well as Assemblyman Jerry Green.

  • Today thru Sunday - May 8-10. Play: A Raisin in the Sun. Lorraine Hansberry's classic in a production by M.Power Performing Arts, directed by Alrick Brown. Exciting theater, locally produced. Three performances this weekend: Friday and Saturday at 8 PM; Sunday Matinee at 3 PM. Presented by Act IV Productions. At First Unitarian Society of Plainfield, 724 Park Avenue.   • Tomorrow - May 9. 9 AM - 1 PM. Annual Spring Fishing Derby. Cedar Brook Lake has been stocked with Channel catfish and small-mouthed bass for this annual kids' event.   • Tomorrow - May 9. 6 - 9 PM. Benefit Exhibit & Reception: Art of Ivan Lo. The whimsy and humor of illustrations by artist KuoLiang 'Ivan' Lo for an Economics Journal will on sale. Half of show sales will benefit Grace's Kitchen, a feeding program serving the hungry of Plainfield. Additional viewing Sunday, Noon to 1:30 PM.
