  • Today - October 22. 4 PM. Mayoral Candidates Discussion on Harvest Radio. Mayoral candidates have been invited to participate in Rev. Zechariah Jackson's Town Talker radio program. Harvest Radio, WKMB, is at 1070 AM on your radio dial.

  • Thursdays through November 19. 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Free Basic Spanish Classes: A Plainfield Family Success Center Activity. Basic Spanish to help navigate everyday communication situations. At the PFSC, 925 Arlington Avenue (old High School), Rooms 403/405. Info: Ms. McLean (908) 731-4360 x 5381. PFSC is a project sponsored by the Plainfield Board of Education. All activities are without charge.

  • Today - October 22. 7 PM. Cable TV Advisory Board. At City Hall Library, 515 Watchung Avenue. Parking and entry in lot behind behind building. Public welcome.

  • Tomorrow /Saturday - October 23/24. 7:30 PM (8 PM curtain). The Compleat Wrks of Wilm Shkspr (abridged). To quote one reader, 'it is a wet-your-pants funny romp through the works (compleat) of William Shakespeare'. Not your high school teacher's W.S., either! A production of CDC Community Theatre, which began as the Cranford Dramatic Club and, like the Plainfield Symphony, is celebrating its 90th season. Tickets: $20.   • Tuesday - October 27. 7:30 PM. Historic Preservation Commission. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue (parking in lot at rear of building). Public invited.

  • Wednesday - October 28. 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. LWV Candidates' Forum. The Plainfield chapter of the League of Women Voters will present its candidates' forum in two segments: at 6:30 PM, candidates for the 22nd District Assembly seats; at 7:30 PM, candidates for Mayor and the Ward 4 Council seat. At Emerson Community School, East Third Street at Emerson Avenue.

  • Wednesday - October 28. 7:30 PM. Plainfield Shade Tree Commission. City Hall Library. 515 Watchung Avenue (parking in lot at rear of building). Public invited.

  • Friday - October 30. 6 PM. Halloween Haunted House & Kids Party. A safe and fun environment for children ages 5 - 10 (parents MUST accompany children).   • Friday - October 30. Community Basketball Trip: NJ Nets vs. Orlando Magic. First game of the season, great first level seats available. Bus departs City Hall Parking Lot at 6:00 PM SHARP. Bus will return to same location at 11:00 PM. Cost: $55/person, includes transportation, game ticket, Nets Basketball giveaway. Tickets are first come/first served.
